Justine needs your votes....PLEASE?!?!
This is one of the girls that I work with on hitting. We were able to pull some strings, and get her into the University of Hawaii as a scholar athlete. She will be attending U of H on scholarship as their equipment manager. Her hard work, and determination, pulled her through, affording her new opportunities. It is a very motivational story, and should be shared with as many people as you...

Jillian's new show...
Aaron has started a rather interesting conversation about Jillian’s new show, and TBL in general. He can be very opinionated at times, based on his own value system, as well as years of experience in the industry.
But, the real question? Do you agree or disagree?
Come on over to his blog, read, and weigh in on the conversation! I’ve started sharing my thoughts…

Biggest Loser ... RIGHT HERE!
Never even would have known, but there’s a movement, going on just down the street from where I live. It looks like the show has made a great positive impact…

I know, someone like myself would never receive an opportunity, without paying top dollar…or short of having to beg someone to beat me into submission, making me do what I really need...

One of my long time pitching students...
…finally makes it to the show, after 6+ years in the Giants minor league system. He started with me when he was 12 years old, and we stuck together all the way through his Senior year in HS, working out every weekend. A young 25 years old, claimed off of waivers, did well in his debut. Now he just has to perform to stay there. The clip gave me the chills to watch, especially facing ...

Checking In...finally!
Hey Everyone! OMG!!! I can’t believe I haven’t checked in with you guys for 3 months! A lot has been going on. Those of you who keep up with me on facebook probably aren’t in the dark about some things, but I’m sorry I haven’t been around.
First, let me update you on the surgery. It’s been 2 months and 1 week. It went very well, but it certainly has been...
Happy (rough) Holidays!
I sincerely wish everyone a Happy Holiday season!
Since starting back with “the program”, on December 12th, I’ve dropped approximately 12 LBS. It’s not easy, and at times I want to just reach for a piece of cake, some cookies, or even that chocolate fudge right over by my desk, but I’m abstaining. But, it is so rough!
Anyway…
Stay safe! And I hope everyone...
Back in the Game... Week 15
So I took a few months off from paying attention to my weight, and during that time I began to take Aikido classes. I gained some of the weight back, but these classes have helped me to begin losing again, surpassing where I was when I began my unintentional hiatus. I am trying to finish my dissertation and have been very busy, but these classes are helping me stay focused and eat better while...

How's the real deal?
I have a good friend, who used to work at the company I work at in HR and legal. She is very sharp, and knows her stuff. She and her husband really got into getting healthy. They found a way to take it WAY past just getting healthy, and look at the results. She has become a personal trainer, offering boot camps and such. She is pretty awesome, and fun to work with. Maybe she can help us out...

BL
So are any of you disappointed in the current BL show. I watched the first show and it was just very hard to watch. It is not a family show anymore- yes they bleep out Jillian’s language but she is still screaming and it is just awful. I would have never made it out there with her talking like that- and I would never want my kids to see me allowing someone to talk to me like that. I am...
bootcamp results
I lost 8 lbs and 11 1/4 inches. I can really tell a difference with the inches coming off. we have this week off, then i start back next week.
Surgery or TBL?
Hey all—
Well, I’m sorry I haven’t been on here for ages! I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching, trying to figure out what the best move is for me. Let me tell you, this decision has not been easy, but after a lot of consideration, I am officially having gastric sleeve surgery.
It’s like this: Basically, my body is starting to give out. I injured my lower...
Tomorrow is my assesment day for the last of my 1st bootcamp session. It’s been six weeks and I’ve lost @ 8 pounds but I know I’m losing inches b/c my pants are loose:) I just have to tell you how good I feel now that I have finally made exercise a regular commitment instead of just here and there. Tara and Todd I know you guys are on a roll too!
How about the rest of...
weeks 13 and 14 Weigh ins
In the last 2 weeks I’ve lost a pound each week again. I’m on week 6 of the “couch to 5K” (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml) The last day of week 5 is to run 20 minutes straight and I can’t believe that I did it! I’m pretty happy losing a pound a week, as long as it keeps up. My goal is to lose 100 lbs. in 2 years, so I’m right on track. I find myself not as hungry and eating less...

I can’t puit into words how busy I’ve been. I’ve had a few minutes here and there to check facebook, but nothing of quality. The fact my FB goes to my cell helps a lot.
I’ve been excersising and watching what I eat…. have gone from 274 to 250. I had wanted to drop 50 lbs over the summer, but am happy w/ what I’ve lost to date. the gym has taken a lot fo my...
Weeks 11 and 12 Weigh ins
In the last 2 weeks I’ve lost a pound each. I’ve started week 5 of the “couch to 5K” (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml) Working out and being somewhat careful with what I eat has helped give me consistent losses the last couple of weeks, and it seems easy enough to keep it up. I’ll just keep plugging away at it… gym 2 – 3 times a week and running 3 times a week. If I hit a...
Week 10 Weigh In
I feel pretty good that I only gained .5 of a pound these last few weeks that I haven’t been working out. I am going to hit the gym and get through week 3 of the “couch to 5K” (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml) I’m feeling great and I feel like I am starting over again 10 lbs down from where I started. I can take on these next 15 lbs. from where I am now, instead of at the...
Day 2 of he**..oops I mean bootcamp
Well it was 45 min of solid cardio, I felt liek I was in 6th grade gym again, how did we do it back then? Jumping Jacks, bear crawl, burpies, lunges, squats, push ups, mtn climbers, scissors, running, sit ups & more. I thought I was going to throw up…thankfully I didn’t. My hand are blistered from sweating so bad then doing all the stuff on the gym floor. Oh well it will be good in...
Well I had my first day of bootcamp today. It was really just an assesment day so he can see where we are physically. Wed he said will start the tough program. I go 3xs a week for 6 weeks. David Griffin is the trainer (can’t remember which season he was on, it was a couple of years ago). It was a great mix of people there, I wasn’t the biggest nor was I the smallest, a very comfortable...

Week 9 Weigh In: Damage Undone
Well I undid the damage of the last couple of weeks this week. I am feeling better each day and will try week 3 of the “Couch to 5K” program (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml) probably on Wednesday or Thursday. I want to make sure I am all the way better before I do too much. I haven’t been eating nearly as much while I’ve been sick which is a great thing. Usually I overeat...
Week 7 & 8 Weigh-ins
Well, the last two weeks I haven’t done very well at all. I gained a couple of pounds each week but I am hoping my next weigh-in in the next day or 2 will be good news. I have been out of town and got sick which are two things that often trigger weight gain for me. I haven’t been running and hope I can continue back on week 3 of the “Couch to 5K” plan, which is where I left off. I worked out a...

Anyone up for this????
Yesterday I went thru some of my old weight loss books, I have one that I did part of 2 years ago with success but didn’t follow all the way thru with it. It’s the fat smash diet by Ian K Smith. I am seriously considering trying it again and actually following it thru to the end. It starts with a 9 day detox, basically all the fruits and veggies you want, no meat, coffee (ugh..that...
Update
Thanks Tara and Mandie for your supportive words and prayers. Quick note: where the heck has JD gone? Kelly’s been gone for a while now, too. Come back guys!

Week 6 Weigh In... 1st Goal Met!!!
I met my first goal of 10 pounds lost and I finished my second week of the “Couch to 5K” program this week! (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml). I lifted weights 2 times this week and hope to do better than that this week, but everything seems to be working well together. To lose weight over a holiday week is a great thing for me. I got some new running shoes to reward myself for...

Obesity vs. Starvation
So, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the next chapter in my life. God is working on my heart and changing the way I see Jesus and what it means to be a follower. I think as Christians we get so caught up in evangelism and saving the lost that we completely over look being in relationship and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Have you ever thought what that means, or what that...
Week 5 Weigh In
I didn’t really do very well on my second week of the “Couch to 5K” program I am starting… again (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml). I did do it one day in the mountains, and it was a killer and I was sore for the rest of the week. I did start it again this week however, and while it is harder than week 1, it is still quite manageable. I am starting to lift weights this week in...

Week 4 Weigh In
I was actually kind of surprised that I only lost 1 pound this week. I completed the first week of the “Couch to 5K” program I am starting… again (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml). I haven’t been lifting weights yet, but I have been getting the cardio in. I’ll take a pound, as long as they keep coming off! I am going to the mountains for the week and hopefully when I get back...
was 271 after end of April...

Week 3 Weigh In
One pound lost this week… I think I was pretty dehydrated though, so I’m looking for another 2 pounds or so next week. We will see on Monday. I got blood work back from the doctor and need to make an appointment to talk about the results. It doesn’t look too good though… most stuff is in the middle, but a couple of things are kinda high. I’m pretty sure losing weight would fix it all pretty...
after skulking round matty's side, went to matty's...
I guess a lot of people who had been on the matty site last season decided to creat a matty FB account to write whatever and have some privacy. After skulking, I was curious what they were writing and jointed after NOT making the BL8. On occasion, I do log there and this was a recernt post. If you’d like an invite and have FB, I can hook you up. Or, maybe we would be interested in doing...

Season 9?
Open call dates have been posted. Is anyone going for round 4???
Week 2 Weigh In
Well… after traveling, I hit a new all-time high of 285 pounds. Since then I have lost 5 of those pounds and have been doing a good job the last 2 weeks. One of those weeks I was out of town. I have been really concentrating on portion control and have been drinking protein shakes this week. I have been making some goals and want to find some ways to reward myself if I meet those goals. I am...

BL8, continued, but a but delayed.
So, I had to admit that nothing would bring me greater pleasure than to submit a ‘finale’ photo around the time of the BL 8 show to Angelic and Tad….to do this, it’s gonna take a village, plus the fact I have the ankle to compensate for… so….

Oh by the way I am going to my reunion. Seems several people have been hesitant to go b/c of all the differences in themselves, so I guess we are all in the same boat!
Where did all the motivation go?
How is it that in less than a week I can go from, “I CAN DO THIS!” to “Eh, whatever.” F*CK! I had lost about 4 pounds during the first 4 days of this thing, and then I don’t know what happened. I just started to eat like nobody’s business. Maybe it’s because life has been crazy.
My aunt died Monday. She’d been in the hospital for nearly 2...
The Season 8 @ home Biggest Loser
So today began my quest as the Season 8 @ home Biggest Loser. Filming officially started this week and so I weighed in last night and started kicking my own ass today.
Did I explain this to you guys? I thought I did, but maybe not. Anyway, the strategy is to start doing the Dr. H workout/food recommendation (like we all said we were going to do back in the day), at the same time the season 8...
I am down 9 pounds since April 13th. Feeling pretty good. I have my 20 year reunion on June 6th, I am nowhere near what I weighed in high school (@ 140 pounds more to be exact). I’m having conflicting thoughts on if I want to go. I feel good about myself but it’s still embarassing to think of how I’ve let myself go.
